We’ve all got our go-to camping and hiking snacks. For some it’s GORP, for others it’s jerky or a packaged junk food that you found at the gas station on the road trip into camp. When we came across the Hunter’s Reserve Meat Sticks a few weeks ago, we knew that we had found not only found a new snack to add to the arsenal, but a great story to tell around the campfire as well.
We’re all familiar with “standard” meat sticks. They come in flavors like “Original” or “Peppered” – or if you’re feeling really risky, “Teriyaki.” Sure, they’re all delicious, but I’m not sure what “Original” is supposed to taste like. Enter Hunter’s Reserve:
- Roadkill Stick
- Swamp Stick
- Jackalope Stick
- Duck Stick
We tried out a few flavors that fell slightly outside “original,” and in no particular order – here are a few of our favorites:
- Roadkill (Venison, elk, wild boar, pork, pheasant & rabbit)
- Jackalope (Venison, pork & rabbit)
- Swamp Stick (Alligator, pork & beef)
- Duck & Pork
Each stick that we tasted boasts:
- Gluten Free
- No Nitrates
- No MSG.
If you’re looking for a tasty camping snack that you can brag about around the campfire – check out the offerings from Hunter’s Reserve.
