Natchez State Park – Natchez, MS

Located in southwest Mississippi 10 miles north of historic Natchez is Natchez State Park. The park’s claim to fame happened in 1992, when someone pulled an 18.15lb largemouth bass from the lake, setting a new state record that still stands. While it’s not the fishing hotspot it once was, many anglers will visit Natchez Lake on a regular basis. The park has two improved campgrounds and one primitive camping area as well has a number of cabins. You can check out our review of the Natchez State Park cabins here.

We found Natchez State Park to be a quiet park and excellent for a weekend of true relaxation. There aren’t many hiking trails, you can’t have campfires the cabins, and you can’t have pets in any of the buildings on the property. Generators are also banned in the park. All of these things make for a very relaxing experience. You can even throw a round of disc golf if you’d like. If you have a boat and are looking for a chill weekend Natchez State Park is worth a stay.
