The return of fall signifies many things; falling leaves, sweater weather, and…ALL the apples! Whether you’re driving the family to the nearest orchard or bobbing for apples at your kid’s birthday party, everyone can find something to get excited about during apple season. For us at 50 Campfires, we prefer to keep it simple with a sweet and tangy refreshments, also known as Apple Cider Recipes for Fall Cocktails.
Apple cider recipes are the tasty product of unfiltered, unsweetened apple juice. And if you don’t know what we’re talking about, do yourself a favor and go find some! Warm cider is the perfect elixir for those chilly fall nights around the campfire. Likewise, sweet apple cider can also be used to give your fireside cocktails an extra punch of goodness. Trust us, these Apple Cider Recipes for Fall Cocktails will not only amaze your taste buds, they will also put you and your camping buddies in the best of fall moods, and who wouldn’t want that?
Most of these are perfect for the campsite, although some may be more campsite friendly than others. Remember, you can always have some fun and make our Apple Cider Recipes for Fall Cocktails your own by mixing the ingredients up to your liking. We’re also the type to drink our cocktails next to the campfire out of coffee cups, solo cups, or whatever we have on hand! So pick your favorite and give those apple cider recipes a go!
Apple Cider Recipes for Fall Cocktails:
- Lime wedge
- 4 oz. ginger beer
- ¼ oz. lime juice
- 2 oz. dark rum (we used Captain Morgan)
- 2 oz. apple cider
- Combine the cider, rum, and lime juice in an ice-filled highball glass.
- Top with ginger beer and garnish with the lime wedge.
- 3 Tbsp. gold rum (we used Bacardi Gold)
- 2 Tbsp. brandy
- 1 ½ Tbsp. apple cider
- 1 tsp. pure maple syrup
- ¾ tsp. fresh lemon juice
- Ice cubes
- 2 thin apple slices
- Cinnamon sticks
- Star anise
- Combine rum, brandy, cider, syrup, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker; fill with ice.
- Cover and shake until cold.
- Strain into 2 glasses.
- Garnish with apple slices, star anise, and cinnamon sticks.
- 1 oz. Grand Marnier
- 1 oz. gold tequila
- 5-6 oz. sweet apple cider
- Orange and apple slices
- Cinnamon sticks
- Honey
- Star anise
- *Optional: Cinnamon, cane sugar, coarse sugar (used for glass rimming)
- Add a few spoonfuls of cinnamon, cane sugar, and coarse sugar to a small plate.
- Run an orange slice around the rim of the glass, then press into the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat the rim.
- Add a few orange slices in the bottom of the glass, fill with ice, then add Grand Marnier, tequila, apple cider, and a few drops of honey; stir to mix.
- Garnish with apple slices, star anise, and cinnamon sticks.
- 1 orange slice
- 6 oz. lager or pumpkin beer
- 6 oz. apple cider
- Combine the lager (or pumpkin beer) and cider in a tall chilled pilsner glass.
- Garnish with the orange slice.
- 1 bottle of pinot grigio
- 2 ½ cups apple cider
- 1 cup club soda
- ½ oz. ginger brandy
- 3 Honeycrisp apples, chopped
- 3 pears, chopped
- Cinnamon sticks
- Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir together.
- Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
- Add cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional).
- *Note: Regular brandy can also be used - we prefer to use ginger brandy for a greater autumnal flavor.
- 2 thin lemon slices
- 1 black tea bag
- ⅛ tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 2 oz. rum (we used Captain Morgan)
- 8 oz. apple cider
- Bring the cider and vanilla to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add the tea bag (to mug); steep 3 minutes.
- Remove tea bag and stir in the gin.
- Serve warm with lemon slices.
