Camping in West Washington: Lake Ki Camping Resort
Camp Washington: I’m talking with Fred today. He’s the Camp Host at Lake Ki Camping Resort in Washington. Fred, why don’t you get us started with a little bit of history about Lake Ki and about how long it’s been there?
Fred: Lake Ki has been here since the ’70s. It started off as a Church Camp, and then progressed into an RV Park over the years.Camp Washington: Okay. And what types of camping do you offer there?
Fred: We have 31 hook-up sites and 21 tent sites.
Camp Washington: And what would you say the most popular activities are for guests there?
Fred: This is a great lake for fishing. It’s well stocked every year in April. And it’s great for kayaking and paddle boarding.
Camp Washington: And do you provide kayaks and paddleboards for rent or use there at the resort?
Fred: We have paddleboards for rent and we have boats for rent.
Camp Washington: Okay, perfect. Now, if I was going to be staying at Lake Ki Resort for an extended period of time and wanted to kind of check out the surrounding area, what are some attractions you might recommend?
Fred: Well, we have the Seattle Premium Outlets Mall. It’s 50 miles down the road. In Everett, we have Comcast Arena, where they have hockey and lacrosse. There’s a lot to do around here. There’s lots of shopping. Lots of different tourist things.
Camp Washington: Sure. Sure. Two more questions for you. If you were going to spend just one hour at Lake Ki Resort, how would you spend your time there, Fred?
Fred: I would spend it out on the dock, fishing.
Camp Washington: And what kind of fish do you guys get there?
Fred: It’s trout.
Fred: For an RV site, I would stay at site #104 because it has a great view of the lake. As a tent site, I would stay in Site 9 because it’s the closest. It has a new view of the lake.
Camp Washington: All right, perfect. Well, thank you for those camping tips, Fred, and thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to tell us a little bit more about Lake Ki Resort in Washington.
Fred: Thank you for your time.
