Mount San Jacinto State Park is 14,000 acres of beautiful meadows and forests. The San Jacinto Peak is almost 11,000 feet above sea level, which makes it the second highest point in southern California. The park has several other peaks that are 6,000 feet or more.
Camping at Mount San Jacinto State Park
Mount San Jacinto State Park has developed campsites at Idyllwild and Stone Creek campgrounds. Reservations are recommended and can be made up to 7 months before arriving. Sites allow for RVs or trailers up to 24 feet. Hike in camping is allowed for visitors who have wilderness camping permits. Camping is permitted only within the state’s wilderness boundaries. Up to 15 people per site.

Things To Do at Mount San Jacinto State Park
Visitors can enjoy a self-guided nature trail to see all the sites the park has to offer. In addition to camping, hiking is also a popular activity at Mount San Jacinto. The park has a trail system that was designed to preserve the scenic and wilderness values as much as possible. The trails vary in length and intensity of elevation. Day hikers must have passes to enter the wilderness that can be obtained from a park ranger station.
