Jackson Lake State Park is called the ‘oasis in the plains’ for good reason. It is a beautiful place where you can canoe, and go waterskiing – and have the time of your life. The camping accommodations offer 260 campsites and most are open year round. Some are closer to the lake than others are and some have electric hookups.

Amenities at Jackson Lake State Park

The amenities include an Amphitheater, boat ramps, a camper services building with vault toilets, flush toilets, and showers. There is a conference room you may rent that houses up to 40 people. The entrance station will set you up with your passes and where you need to be, the dump station will allow you to get rid of your waste. There are picnic sites, and fishing piers along with group facilities for hosting reunions and conferences.

There are so many things to do you probably will not do them all in one trip. You can go bird watching to see the whooping cranes and billed curlews. Boating is popular and so is fishing for small-mouth bass and pike in the stocked lake. There is an OHV track open daily for you to ride on, and if you are looking for an adrenaline rush you should try jet skiing. In the winter, there is ice-skating and ice fishing.
