Camping Accommodations

The park offers family campgrounds for guests who want to stay and enjoy the park for a few days. The campgrounds are covered by pine dunes. Most of the campsites do have water hookup. The park also offers organized youth camp programs for children. Cabins and cottages are also readily available on a first come, first serve basis.

Cape Henlopen State Park offers their guests beaches, boat rentals, campgrounds, day use facilities, drinking water, dumb stations, fishing piers, kayak rentals, laundry facilities, overnight group facilities, pet areas, picnic areas, RV sites, and restrooms. The cottages include a gas fireplace, satellite TV, heat and air conditioning, a washer and dryer, remote parking, and handicapped accessibility.

Things to do

Guests come to Cape Henlopen State Park for biking, camping disc golf, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, kayaking, picnicking, surfing, and swimming. The park features 8 different trails for individuals who want to bike, walk, run, or job while relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the natural environment surrounding them.

Operating hours

The park is open from 8AM to sunset. The park office is open from 8AM to 4PM during the week. From April to October the park office is open the weekend as well.

The Seaside Nature Center is open from 9AM to 4PM. From December to February the nature center is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Guests are encouraged to contact the park to make reservations and inquire about any fees associated with staying at the park.
