It was in 1838 that the Bladon Springs State Park was first opened as a spa resort. Individuals traveled from all over the world to experience the curing properties that this spring offered. Whether you are looking to hunt, relax, or to enjoy a family picnic the Bladon Springs State Park offers visitors a nice mixture of it all. Individuals and families from all around the world travel to this park when they need to unwind and enjoy a little time outside with Mother Nature.
Camping at Bladon Springs State Park
Bladon Springs State Park offers a modern campground that features ten different camp sites. Each of the sites has a source of water, sewage connection, 30 amps of electricity, a picnic table, and a grill. There are also group pavilions in the park that can be used.
Amenities at Bladon Springs State Park
In addition to the modern campground, Bladon Springs State Park also features a picnic area and a playground. Picnic areas and grills are scattered throughout the park and are on a first come, first serve basis for usage. There are also three group pavilions in the park that can be rented out. Individuals can call the park to reserve the pavilions for a fee of $25.00 a day.
Things to do at Bladon Springs State Park
This beautiful park is just a few miles away from the Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge, located next to the Tombigbee River. The refuge is 4,218 acres and features lakes, sloughs and creeks making a large portion of it accessible only by boats. It is a beautiful place to visit as it’s main purpose is to provide a habitat for wood ducks and wintering waterfowl. There are many other wildlife in the refuge such as deer, squirrels, turkey, raccoons, alligator and beavers. During hunting seasons, a limited amount of hunters can come to this park to hunt. The park is also located just one mile away from the Bladon Springs which makes it the perfect place to go for individuals who want to cure or heal themselves.
