5 Google Pixel Features That Outdoorsy Folks Will Love

This morning my friends and I were eagerly awaiting Google’s new smartphone announcement. Google’s new version of the Android phones are the 5 inch Pixel and the 5.5 inch Pixel XL go toe-to-toe with Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in price and power.

As outdoor enthusiasts here are 5 things that we found new and noteworthy:

Google Assistant for Voice Commands

Much like Apple’s Siri, Google now has Google Assistant that forms the heart of the Pixel smartphone experience. Just press the home button, and Google Assistant is ready help you look for directions or campfire recipes.

A Fantastic Camera

Pixel features a camera with a DxOMark Mobile score of 89—which is the highest rated score for a smartphone camera. The 12-megapixel camera will capture photos in HDR+ mode. And produce sharp photographs that can rival a DSLR camera in quality.

Short Charging Times

According to Google, the phones will have 7 hours of battery life after a short 15 minute charging session. This makes the Pixel an ideal phone to take on camping/hiking trips.

Video Image Stabilization

For recording videos, Pixel has an image stabilization mode. And this awesome feature eliminates “camera shake” from your handheld videos.

Unlimited Storage for Photos and Videos

Much like Apple’s Cloud service, Google’s Pixel offers online storage for photos and videos. The best part about this service is that you’d won’t see out of storage notifications with when your images sync to your online Google Accounts.
