4 Bacon Cocktails to Change Your Life

Bacon cocktails will bring a whole new level of joy to your life. Bacon is just one of those food items we can’t do without. It’s great for breakfasts at the campsite, but come on, we’re more creative than that! We’ve covered some tasty bacon recipes before, but it’s been way too long, so here are a few bacon cocktails to add to your arsenal before summer comes to an end!

Spicy BLT Green Bloody Mary

The Green Bloody Mary is in! It’s a warning sign Mr. Spock probably needs to stay away from the blood bank — that green Vulcan blood after all! We’re used to seeing the original Bloody Mary with a strip of bacon sticking out of it, but a Spicy BLT Green Bloody is new and delicious. If you’re feeling ambitious you should definitely give this one a try. It will take you about 15 minutes to make, but it’s undoubtedly worth the effort. The level of heat is up to you. Including really good, fresh grated horseradish and carefully selecting your jalapeno peppers will make all the difference. However, since this recipe serves four, make sure the level of heat is in agreement amongst your friends. Fire up the BLT Green Bloody Mary and enjoy!

Deluxe Candied Bacon Martini

Tell James Bond. Bacon makes everything, including his shaken not stirred martini, better! In fact, bacon takes drinking a martini to a whole new level. This is one of our must try bacon cocktails!
Recipe type: Drinks
Serves: 2
Ingredients
  • 1-2 strips of bacon
  • Brown sugar (enough to coat both sides of the bacon)
  • 3 shots vodka
  • 2 shots Applejack brandy
  • 1 shot amaretto liqueur
  • 1 shot maple syrup warmed to thin out, preferably grade “B”
Instructions
  1. For the Candied Bacon:
  2. Place bacon slices in a bowl, season them with pepper and toss with brown sugar. Lay the strips on preheated grill and cook until crispy. Sprinkle the left over sugar on top of bacon after turning. Put foil on top of bacon and weight. This will flatten the bacon while it cooks.
  3. Cook until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Finally, transfer the bacon to a cooling rack and allow it to harden.
  5. Liquid Instructions:
  6. Combine all liquids in a shaker over ice.
  7. Shake until combined and chilled.
  8. Strain final mixture into martini glasses and garnish with a slice of candied bacon.

The Tipsy Pig

Not only is the name of this drink awesome, but the flavor also follows suit. Combining bourbon with a homemade bacon & brown sugar sauce, are you serious? Sinful. You won’t find a better, more party-inspiring, bacon cocktail.
Recipe type: Drinks
Serves: 2

  • For Garnish:
  • Candied bacon if you wish (from Bacon Brown Sugar Simple Syrup),

Instructions
  1. For the Bacon Brown Sugar Simple Syrup:
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook the bacon, brown sugar and 1 cup of water until lightly boiling.
  3. Strain the candied bacon and reserve. Set aside and let cool.
  4. For the Finished Drink:
  5. In a shaker filled with ice, add the bourbon, Bacon Brown Sugar Simple Syrup, vermouth and bitters, and shake until well mixed.

The Old Boar

The name of this bacon inspired cocktail may be “Old Boar”, yet it’s anything but! Combining bourbon and bacon, you can not go wrong! Such is the nectar of the gods! A couple of these bacon cocktails will liven up any party. Enjoy responsibly. Remember, all things in moderation, including bacon!
Recipe type: Drinks
Serves: 1
Ingredients
  • 2 oz. bourbon
  • 1 Tbsp. simple syrup
  • 2 dashes of Angostura
  • 2 cherries
  • 1 orange rind
  • For Garnish:
  • 4 strips of bacon
  • Brown sugar
  • Maple syrup
Instructions
  1. To get started put some brown sugar on a plate and press the bacon into it on both sides. Put the bacon on the grill.
  2. Combine the bourbon, simple syrup, Angostura, and cherries in a lowball glass with plenty of ice. Stir until drink is cold.
  3. Cut off a nice slice of orange rind. Squeeze it into the glass and run it around the rim as well. You want as much of that orange aroma as possible. Then stick the rind in the glass.
  4. As the bacon nears completion, brush some maple syrup on each side. Let it go for another minute or two.
  5. Take if off, cut in half and stick two pieces in the glass. Your guests are going to love The Old Boar because, hey – bacon!
